About
The Università degli Studi “Guglielmo Marconi”, the first Italian Open University, integrates non-residential communication tools with face-to-face activities. The Athenaeum, which is a public non state University, is acknoweledged by MIUR, the Italian Ministry of Higher Education and Research, M.D. March 1st 2004 (published on the Gazzetta Ufficiale No. 65 of 03/08/2004).
According to one’s skills and needs, each student can choose to take lessons by means of several supports offered by the University:
Virtual C@mpus eLearn®
It allows students to learn through their own PC (e-Learning).
The Virtual C@mpus platform, which is specifically designed to be easy to use, offers interactive and educational multimedia contents:

* Assessment tools and tests
* Seminars within virtual classrooms
* Virtual lab practice tests
Virtual C@mpus Mobile®
It allows students to learn through mobile internet devices (such as mobile phones, Palm and PocketPCs, Smartphones) and to enjoy audio and video lessons and texts, integrating learning and communication activities.
Virtual C@mpus e-Book
Thanks to the “E-book reader” device, each student can always have access to online texts and audio lessons.
Web TV/Marconi Channel®
It is a web TV/radio, a digital evolution of the television broadcasting, that facilitates the employment of videos by means of web. This platform provides a deepening cultural understanding structured around specific thematic channels, playlists, archives and an interactive section for users. Marconi Channel is a didactic tool for TV-Learning, a TV-radio communication channel that takes proper advantage from the media in order to deliver high quality streamed audio and video products.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE
Available 24 hours a day, the help desk is performed by technical specialists who provide assistance to students to solve any problems that may arise.
